Intuitive Consumer ResearchThe project “Houden van Hennen” is part of a programme initiated by Wageningen University, called “Towards responsible animal farming”. Wageningen UR wanted to actively include the voice of the consumer in this project, in order to work in a more consumer oriented fashion within poultry farming. Based on intuitive techniques, we inventorised the imagery of consumers on a conscious and subconscious level around this subject. These images were then presented to the same group of consumers and actively translated into solutions for poultry farming of egg-laying hens in the future.
Participants’ feedback: The consumers spontaneously offered to participate in future sessions of this type. They were surprised by the approach and its outcome. The energy level remained high throughout the session, people truly enjoyed.
Project leader’s feedback: The approach and the results were refreshingly new and innovative. They gave a totally new insight into the thoughts and perceptions of the consumers. The results offer the basis for a new type of communication towards consumers, but were also the basis and inspiration on which we developed new farming principles like “Het Rondeel” and “De Plantage”. | Websites |
